Energy Resolution
Okanogan County
A resolution expressing Washington State's support for the aid in building new and improving old structures to make them more efficient.
WHEREAS, we found that better windows in buildings reduce the amount of energy needed to produce heat and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial if we installed energy-efficient windows in all buildings, benefitting the owner and the environment and
WHEREAS, 12% of all new homes are energy efficient and
WHEREAS, if there was a law enforcing all new buildings to be constructed at a higher energy efficiency, more energy would be saved, and,
WHEREAS, we found that most people do not like the idea of putting time and effort into changing all their windows, not to mention the cost and
WHEREAS, if we were able to offer people an incentive by giving them a tax credit, more people would be willing to make their old and new buildings more energy efficient and
WHEREAS, if we also educated the public of the importance of saving energy, they would recognize that it would be beneficial in the long run and
WHEREAS, there would be a substantial savings of electricity.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this solution mentioned above would save wasted energy and money. The US Federal Government should help by spreading the word and possibly funding it.
