Energy Resources Resolution

Global Warming and Renewable

By Pierce County Delegation.

WHEREAS, the global climate is changing as a result of primitive forms of energy collection which release carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere
WHEREAS, this climate is leading to adverse effects on all forms of life and,
WHEREAS, it is our duty as inhabitants of the world to decrease the rate of this change,
WHEREAS, renewable energy sources such as wind, water, and solar energy can positively effect this situation,
WHEREAS, use of renewable energy helps reduce global warming by reducing need for use of fossil fuels, and
WHEREAS, availability of oil, internationally, is falling, and
WHEREAS, need for different types of energy will be essential with the reduced availability of fossil fuels, and
WHEREAS, our current forms of energy are becoming more limited, and
WHEREAS, the global ice shelf is reducing in volume, and
WHEREAS, increased public education on this topic of alternative energy sources will raise awareness of the need to move away from traditional energy sources which increase the rate of global climate change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that renewable energy education should be wide spread. We should actively implement funding for the research and production of efficient types of renewable energy, and make these types of technologies more readily available and affordable.
