WHEREAS, a legal and dependable workforce is critical to our farming communities andWHEREAS, because of the unique seasonal demand of their businesses, farmers often rely on migrant workers who face very poor working and living conditions;
andWHEREAS, rely on migrant farm workers are not being met;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Washington State should ensure that immigrants, who have been working and paying taxes in the U.S., receive proper legal protections; provide better working conditions for farm workers in the state of Washington; and help to secure a legal and dependable workforce for our farmers.
