Health Care Resolution
Lincoln County
WHEREAS the 65+ population in Washington State is projected to grow 99% by the year 2020, requiring more nursing home assistants and in-home care professionals;
WHEREAS there were 215,000 people employed in the health sector in Washington state in the year 2000, which is 8% of Washington’s total workforce;
WHEREAS there is a lack of medical profession instructors;
WHEREAS there is a documented shortage of health care providers ranging the professional spectrum, including nurses, radiology technicians, respiratory therapists, lab technicians, med techs, radiation therapists, home health aids, medical assistants, pharmacist, pharmacy techs, and mental health counselors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Lincoln County KYG Party stands for state supported incentives to complete training in a health care profession.
