Environmental Resolution

Yakima County

WHEREAS, preparedly operated recycling programs are similar in cost to landfill disposal and do not pollute the environment;
andWHEREAS, recycling provides for the reuse of resources which reduces the use of new resources;
andWHEREAS, landfills, such as one in Yakima County, have no capacity left,
andWHEREAS, landfills are a known polluter of groundwater;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that more effective recycling programs be enacted in Washington State.
