2010 4-H KYG Coordinators Update #1

Happy New Year to each of you!

Thank you for caring about seeing our 4-H youth become all they can be during this new year in their lives. The 2010 4-H Know Your Government Conference will be an exceptional opportunity to guide and teach our youth to become positive, contributing citizens as well as build some productive life skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.

If you are new to the program, we utilize a KYG Coordinator list serve that provides you with updates, information, and encouragement as you prepare yourself and county delegates for the conference in February. It is also an avenue for you to correspond with other Coordinators to share success stories, answers to questions, and often fill open hotel rooms with other county delegates. Although the list serve is not yet active, it will be by next week and all your email addresses will be forwarded to it.

So now, here’s some important information I have for you.
  • Many of your county delegations have already been meeting. YEAH!! And you are in need of the bills. I have attached the list and message from Melissa Beard, our curriculum expert. (View the Document on Google Docs)
  • Curriculum correction: the first link for "How To Testify..." on page 43 does not work. Use the link on page 44.
  • Registration will open Jan. 7th. I will clarify registration before that date. Please remember that we are asking that county delegations provide only ONE payment for their entire group.
  • Did you know KYG has a Facebook page? Search it out on your Facebook page under “WA 4-H Know Your Government”

More information coming……..

Again, thanks for your work to make this a positive and productive experience and learning opportunity for our youth.
Be sure and contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Jan
