WASL Education Resolution

WHEREAS, it has been proven that the majority of the students taking the WASL are unable to pass the entire test.
WHEREAS, the governor has granted an extension on passing Science and Math as neither of these test have been successful.
WHEREAS, the teachers are forced to teach only what they feel is on the WASL.
WHEREAS, many very intelligent students do not do well under stressful situations such as the WASL.
WHEREAS, the WASL can not be a tool to evaluate a students overall learning abilities.
WHEREAS, there is little support among educators, parents and students for the WASL.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the WASL test should be removed from the Washington State Public School systems as a mandatory test to graduate from High School.
