Stevens County Immigration Resolution

Whereas, illegal aliens constitute over 25% of the federal prison population. In some areas of the country, 12% of felonies, 25% of burglaries and 34% of thefts are committed by illegal aliens;

andWhereas, illegal immigrates are taking jobs that could be filled by American citizens, thus lowering unemployment;
andWhereas, illegal immigration has lead to overpopulation in hospitals and jails;
andWhereas, illegal immigrants from Mexico equaled about 485,000 people between 2000 and 2004;
andWhereas, L.A. County has 10 million people. 40% of all workers in L.A. County are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card. 3.9 million speak only Spanish;
andWhereas, less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking crops but 36% are on welfare;
andWhereas, Over 70% of the U.S. annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration;
andWhereas, the costs of education, health care, and incarceration of illegal aliens are $10.5 billion per year spent by Californians tax dollars; and
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved we need to invest more money into border control to help stop immigration into our country. This would solve many of our major population problems, as well as costs of healthcare, education, and incarceration.
