Immigration Resolution

Pend Oreille County

WHEREAS, there is much controversy regarding immigration in the United States.
WHEREAS, the 4-H party would like to address Washington State’s unique problems caused by current federal immigration policy in that it has an international border with Canada, an ocean border, and many immigrant residents.
WHEREAS, guest workers in our state impact local law enforcement and emergency services.
WHEREAS, immigrants often require translators to be hired by government entities and public schools.
WHEREAS, current federal immigration policy requires state-funded English as a Second Language classes.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the 4-H party in Washington State is requesting additional funding from the federal government to assist in addressing these immigrant issues created by federal policy.
