Whereas; The National Environmental Policy Act in the United States was established in 1969; and
Whereas; The purposes of this Act are, to declare a national policy which will encourage productive and enjoyable harmony between man and his environment; to promote efforts which will prevent or eliminate damage to the environment and biosphere and stimulate the health and welfare of man; and
Whereas; To enrich the understanding of ecological systems and natural resources important to the Nation; and to establish a Council on Environmental Quality; and
Whereas; That human beings have too much control over the environment. In the view: and
Whereas; Modern technology, as it is employed b capitalist industry, is destructive; and
Whereas; The development of modern technology and scientific knowledge makes it possible for humans to live harmoniously with their environment; Now,
Therefore, be it Resolved; That the 4-H Know Your Government party supports rewarding those who use less water, drive less, and join organizations to promote the elimination of pollution around the world. The environment will be better and human life will be prolonged and keep the world healthier for the future.
