WHEREAS, the election years of 2000 and 2004 showed significant error and ambiguity; andWHEREAS, the United States was founded on a system of government that holds leaders to the word of the people;
andWHEREAS, the people’s word must be fairly and accurately upheld;
andWHEREAS, outdated voter registration had led to multiple inaccuracies in multiple elections; andWHEREAS, the word of more people and third parties must be listened to;
andWHEREAS, instant run-off voting promotes the word of the people and gives third parties a chance to have their ideas heard;
andNOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, Washington shall, to create more objective elections, update voter registration and apply instant-runoff voting to elections.
