Education Resolution

Grant County

WHEREAS, The annual average income for a wage earner in the state of Washington is $45,516; andWHEREAS, In the school year 2004-2005 nearly 16,000students in grades 9-12 dropped out of high schoolin the State of Washington;
andWHEREAS, High schools must have a graduation rate ofat least 67% to meet federal and state goals;
andWHEREAS, a general education degree will not prepare youfor a college education and will hinder the opportunityof getting a well-paid job;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That all residents of the State of Washington will be guaranteed an education through the State, from preschool through university attendance.
