Education Resolution

Whereas; The intention of education in young people is to further expand the knowledge of each student in their chosen career path;
andWhereas; Many high school students believe most of their time spent in school is wasted due to peer’s misbehavior, unnecessary talk by the teachers, and the dumbed - down level of the education;
andWhereas; State requirements to graduate from high school by passing the Wasl are constantly being changed by lowering the Wasl standards due to the massive amount of students who can’t pass the Wasl;
and Whereas; Each student has different interests and a unique way of learning;
Whereas; Students should have access to equal educational opportunities
Now, Therefore, be it Resolved; That as members of the Know Your Government party we believe that each student, with the help of their school counselor or a professional in the field of their choice, should be allowed to tailor his or her own studies to better educate themselves in the career path of their own choosing. We support that graduation requirements should be changed so that students will show their proficiency in the field of their own choice by being evaluated by a professional in that field and that any student who completes and passes the criteria for high school graduation should be allowed to graduate regardless of the student’s age. We also believe that teachers should only teach subjects in areas of their expertise.
