Stevens County Environment Resolution

Whereas, today our world suffers from global warming and shortage of certain power fuels. This includes Washington State. This being our state, we need to use renewable energy;
andWhereas, it is inevitable that someday oil will run out. Car companies should start making all cars either hybrid, electric, or having really good gas mileage. That way we won’t use as much oil;
andWhereas, we could use wind power and solar energy instead of coal to fuel power plants and electric companies. Solar and wind power will never run out and we won’t be using all our natural resources;
andWhereas, we could use natural gas to heat and cook in our homes. It is cleaner and more efficient than electricity generated from coal fired power plants;
andWhereas, if natural gas is not available, wood can be used as a heating source. Trees are a renewable resource and wood waste made into pellets provides clean and efficient heat;
andWhereas, if we used only renewable resources, with the exception of a few other sources, it could help our ozone layer heal and maybe help the global warming crisis;
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved, we need to use renewable energy to power our cars, homes, and industry, instead of using up all of our non-renewable resources. Once gone, they will never come back.
