Immigration Resolution

Kitsap County

WHEREAS, we recognize the US benefits from legal immigration.
WHEREAS, illegal immigrants drain our economy of its resources.
WHEREAS, if we staunch illegal immigration, we will be able to provide more opportunities for legal immigrants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, standards should be kept to assure that immigrants are law abiding citizens. Children born to illegal immigrants should not automatically receive US citizenship. In order to maintain a viable economy, we need to limit the number of immigrants allowed into the country. We should have a flexible plan for taking into consideration allowing refugees from war torn nations or those struck by natural disasters.
