Environment Resolution

County: Asotin

Whereas pollution is a major destruction of our global climate, and is increasingly damaging the people, in more ways then one.
Whereas our county, along with several others are being affected by the local power plants, and heavy industry.
Whereas heavy industry emits very large amounts of smoke, chemicals and unpleasant smells, it makes breathing difficult along with strong odors.
Whereas the size of the particles can effect the health of the person through the lungs and bloodstream.
Whereas The Clean Air Act requires EPA to set air quality standards to protect public health.
Whereas respiratory problems, such as coughing and difficulty breathing, for example: decreased lung function, aggravated asthma, development of chronic bronchitis, irregular heart beat and premature death in people with heart or lung disease. People with heart or lung diseases, are the most likely to be affected by particle pollution exposure. However, even if you are healthy, you may experience temporary symptoms from exposure to elevated levels of particle pollution.
Therefore Industry standards should control, reduce and restrict harmful particles, which effect human health, and, if they don’t care to be apart of making the world a better place, then consequences should take place. Taxing and/or fines may take place. Industries that do follow pollution ideals should be awarded funding and/or tax breaks toward their company.
