Energy Resolution

County: King

WHEREAS the population will continue to increase and will result an increase for energy.
WHEREAS the need to decrease American dependence upon foreign energy sources.
WHEREAS there is a limited supply of fossil fuels.
WHEREAS solar energy, wind energy can not and will not meet all energy needs.
WHEREAS fuels produced from agricultural crops would decrease Eastern Washington crop growers willingness to produce edible food supply resulting in shortage of grain supplies and general foods.
WHEREAS a source of energy is needed that is renewable, consistent, and reliable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the development of nuclear energy is a viable and sustainable source of energy not only for our current needs but for our future generations. It is imperative that nuclear energy waste be contained to protect the environment from contamination. Therefore, we the 4-H KYG Party of King County support the advancing technologies of Nuclear energy with also any alternatives.
