By Megan Weis, Eric Rommereim and Annie Allen
WHEREAS, Education is not static, our educational system must be in a constant state of improvement; and
WHEREAS, The WASL test requirement should be dropped because the information tested does not reflect the current curriculum and dilutes education resources; and
WHEREAS, More computers and technology should be provided. Resources currently used for the WASL should be redirected towards computers and technology; and
WHEREAS, Achievement of students in the US could be increased to be at the level of the top nations. Students in the US education system could achieve higher competencies by competition in schools. Students would qualify in local school, state and national competitions for recognition and rewards; and
WHEREAS, Grade inflation has warped the grading scale so much that not all schools grade equally, grading should be done on a standard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, Education of Washington State students can be furthered by applying these changes to our current system.
